## No more twenty minutes at one table.

The terrace of Coco’s Outback on Thorbeckeplein in Amsterdam.

Previously, an employee would sometimes sit at a table for twenty minutes to take orders from large groups of students. Thanks to Orderli, that is a thing of the past. Especially during peak times, it saves a lot of time and hassle that guests can order on their own and pay online immediately. **Joey Elzas · Coco’s Outback · Amsterdam** Entree Magazine English translation of the Dutch original[Read the source article at Entree](https://www.entreemagazine.nl/ondernemen/adv-orderli-meer-tijd-voor-gastvrijheid-bij-cocos-outback-door-orderli)

## From QR code to the kitchen.

Guests choose at their own pace; the kitchen gets a complete order.

1. Read the menu in peace With photos, descriptions and the same sections as your printed menu.
2. Choose with everything at hand Portion, sauce and allergens sit with the dish itself.
3. The ticket comes in Kitchen and bar each get their own part. Whether guests pay now or later is agreed in advance.

## Course by course, and pay together or apart.

Guests order everything at once, by course. The mains wait until your team calls them away. At the end one guest pays for all, the table splits evenly, or everyone pays for their own dishes.

## Table 8 wants another bottle of wine. Table 3 can’t decide on dessert.

Table 8 orders for itself, because they know what they want. You walk over to table 3 to recommend a dessert. Your attention goes to the table that needs it.

A chef finishes a dish at the pass.

### What your team gets back

- Fewer trips back and forth An extra bottle of water or another glass of wine goes straight onto the ticket, without anyone walking over for it.
- Allergens sit with the dish Guests read what is in it themselves. Your team only explains when someone is unsure.
- Paying without waiting Guests pay when they want to leave, even if your team is busy with another table.

## Update your menu during service.

Is the Salmon Aburi gone? A few seconds later it is off the menu.

### The kitchen gets it all at once.

Guests choose the portion, sauce and extras themselves, so nobody has to walk back to ask whether it comes with or without wasabi.

## What restaurateurs often ask us

Does personal service disappear when guests order themselves?

No. Your team still welcomes guests, recommends wine and dishes and checks in on tables. Guests only order themselves when it makes their evening easier.

Can guests pay straight away or only at the end?

Both. You decide whether the bill stays open until dessert or guests pay per order.

How do guests know what is in a dish?

You add options and allergens to the dish itself. What you enter is what guests see, so check it: you know your kitchen best.

Where does an order from table 8 arrive?

At the POS, a ticket printer or a tablet, split between kitchen and bar if you like. We set that up with you before you go live.

Do guests need to download an app?

No. Guests order and pay in their phone’s browser: through the QR code at the table or the link to your own ordering site for takeaway and delivery. At a kiosk they order and pay on the kiosk itself.

Do I need a POS integration?

No. Without one, orders arrive on an order tablet or a configured printer. With a supported POS integration, they go straight into your POS.
